Wedding Planning with your Wedding Photographer

As a wedding photographer, I have seen many different approaches to wedding planning. Sometimes the bride is doing all of the decision-making, and other times the groom is equally involved. Whatever the case, the most successful weddings are those that are thoroughly planned out.

This is not to say that wedding planning has to be painful. In fact, I really enjoy doing what I can to help the bride and groom make the planning process as painless as possible. Often when I sit down with perspective wedding clients, I will start asking questions about the wedding day and the couple will find themselves making decisions about the wedding day schedule right then. This is a natural occurrence because my wedding photography calls for a well thought out schedule. I like to know everything I can possibly find out about the wedding. This helps me plan out the best times for the location photography sessions.

It is important to schedule the wedding day in such a way that there will be enough time to capture all the important photographs. Sometimes this involves an extensive list of group family shots, private moments of the bride and groom, special locations, and creative arrangements with the wedding party. As the wedding photographer, it is my job to coordinate the process as smoothly and stress-free as possible.
